Glossy Box January Review

The packaging for the box was absolutely amazing, and I thought the sweet inside was a really cute touch. However I received anti-aging/anti-wrinkle products again, and at 18 I'm not worrying about my skin needing to be more firm, so I gave them straight to my Mum as she uses Clarins. I've been using the primer too and although it's a little dark for my skin tone til I rub it in very well it seems to be helping make up stay in place. The eyeliner is alright - I was excited to receive an Eyeko product but I'm not sure I really get the extended end concept and the eyeliner did smudge a bit after a few hours.

This is my last Glossybox because as much as I love getting those printed boxes from the postman:

- £12.95 a month is still a lot of money

- I don't need more small bottles cluttering my room

- It seems like more money is going into packaging than the products

- Too much skincare/perfume samples as opposed to actual make up

However I have discovered two products I love from Glossybox: The HD Brow Kit (will be buying another), and Stila Smudgestick Waterproof Eyeliner (went and bought another in black). I just know I'll kick myself when I'm at uni next year thinking of the money I could've saved each month if I keep up with Glossybox! What are your thoughts on Glossybox? Good value for money or not? xx

Motel Rocks: Fiver Friday Dress

I was unaware that Motel did this but I happened to see on their facebook page (here) something called 'fiver friday' where they reduce one of their dresses (this time the Blake dress in pretty rose navy) to £5 so I grabbed it quickly, with free postage too! I wasn't going to say no to a motel dress for a fiver incl postage!! It arrived this morning..

I was a bit nervy because of the cut out low back but with this epic bra it looks fine.

Such a bargain! I find motel does the best body con, the material isn't so thin you can see what you had for lunch and although this dress is snug on me it's still flattering. I now own two Motel dresses, mucho exciting. can't wait to wear this out! Does anyone else have any motel party dresses? xx

Someday Summary #1

1) Greetings loyal followers, sorry I haven't blogged in about six thousand years, been a combination of ill /heartbroken. Had a fab time in belle Paris, til about 3 days before I left, when I got food poisoning from a dodgy eclair which wasn't fun to say the least. You don't want to feel like chundering every two seconds when you're in one of the most beautiful cities on earth.
Then I got home and the shittiness continued when my lovely boyfriend decided to cheat on me and break up with me (via skype...). Turns out being cheated on is like sticking your head in a bucket of eels - very unpleasant and not a feeling you will forget quickly.

2) Buuut on a lighter note my dog had puppies when I was in Paris, they look like adorable glossy baby otters at the moment, will post pics soon! Also need to edit the pics I took in Paris with my snazzy Photoshop trial. Compared to Picasa, Photoshop is the most complicated thing evarr and makes my brain want to explode. Have two days off work so am going to take some outfit photos, draft some post, catch up on everyone's blogs and reply to comments. xx

Just realised it looks like I have a mysterious tummy bulge, it's not my Christmas mince pie consumption coming back to haunt me with a vengeance, it's actually the billion tank tops I'm wearing underneath all bunching up. Honest. I'm on a fricking ROLL with these outfit posts, honestly I feel as if I should win some sort of consistent blogging award. This was just a very casual outfit I wore to work on Wednesday, nothing very exciting. This time next week I'm going to be in belle paris, living the high life and pursuing my career as an exotic dancer cum trapeze artiste (not really) so I'll make my friend take outfit photos of me with a backdrop of the Eiffel Tower instead of my younger brother's bedroom wall.

I also purchased some things with money I made selling stuff on Ebay. I saw this waving wand recommended in this Fleur De Force hair tutorial here and found it cheapest on Ebay so bought it. My hair is natural really curly and I never bother taming the curly and just straighten it, so hopefully this will help make my hair look nice-curly and not frizzy-curly!

Also I bought a Blackberry case, normally I would make deco cases like this (see here) but I worked out that it's actually more expensive for me to buy all the gems and glue to make one than to just buy a premade one. It's so sparkly (and very bulky), かわいいですね!

I won these gorgey lashes in an Eyelure twitter competition, I never win anything so was so excited! Plus have been dying to try out the double lashes. Won't be wearing them with shitty Eyelure lash glue though, no siree. This has been a rather girly post so I'm going to go wrestle a bear or something now. xx

-I've been really bad recently and doing some shopping, got the gorgey studded Topshop slippers/loafers I kept seeing on the blogosphere; and today before work I picked up these brogues and a cute pink beret from New Look. To be fair a pair of shoes and a new hat for under £20...it would've been rude to say no!

- My bestie came round for a sleepover and we finally exchanged Xmas pressies, she gave me a No7 nail polish set and the polishes are amazing; I got some many compliments from customers and co-workers on my nails at work today!

Two outfit posts in one week?? Madness! Also I finally feel completely happy with the blog layout, what do you guys think? I had a fashion crisis this week, I got everything out of my wardrobe and had one of those 'I buy so much but NOTHING GOES WITH ANYTHING' moments, decided I need to be more brave; today I wore black tights and brown shoes. Also I'm going to Paris in a fortnight's time, I'm so excited! I need to start planning my capsule wardrobe now (which will no doubt break my easyjet luggage allowance), I definitely know red lipstick will be packed. That is all I know at the moment. xx

1) Wore this to go see the new Sherlock Holmes film with my boyfriend - which is SO good btw! Plenty of lols. This is one of the Topshop 'flippy' dresses, I now have the stripey version from Christmas too! The fit is really flattering and unlike most Topshop dresses they aren't bum baringly short. Saying that though, I wore a jumper over the top of the dress and the velvet caught on it and pulled the dress up...then I got honked by a van. Brill. I love this gothic-y Primark necklace, I actually picked it up because I saw it and remembered Llymlrs has one and it looked awesome on her; the power of blogging eh? The middle plastic stone has actually fallen out and I need to find it..

2) I'm obssessed with these chinese fortune sticks my Gran gave me...you shake the tube till one falls out and then find your fortune in a little booklet that corresponds with the number on the stick. You're only supposed to do them once and day and they're freakily accurate! My mum read her fortune just after receiving some jewellery and it said 'you will receive some jewellery as a gift today'...freaky!

3) Also I'm trying to get more into Lookbook so if you could 'hype' this look twould be much appreciated xx

Sales Finds

I did a little bit of sales shopping and spending Christmas vouchers and whatnot, here's what I picked up!

New Look jumpers and long sleeved tops

Gaga goodies! I got the Gaga x Terry Richardson photobook which I wanted for Christmas half price, then saw a girl wearing the Gaga t-shirt and had to ask her where she got it from, and then go and buy one myself!

Picked up two MAC eyeshadows with some Xmas vouchers, I'm not sure when this denim collection was released but they're made to look like the back pocket of a pair of jeans which is snazzy.

More shiz from New Look, Henry Holland bones tights which I'm so excited to wear! Also awesome teal heels which look fugly off but cute on, and I think may be my perfect going out shoes in that they're not too high that they hurt your feet, but are high enough that they're definitely 'going out' shoes. Also bought a teal turban (can you tell what my favourite colour is yet?!), it reminds me of something Kavita would wear!

Also bought some more Topshop ear tunnels, I actually think I'm addicted. Plus cute nautical Primark earrings and these giant feather earrings from New Look. They're massive though, I may have to trim them as they look like they've been plucked straight from an ostrich. Did you guys find anything good in the sales? xx

❄ Glossy Box December Review ❄

I already had a vague idea what was in this months box due to reading beauty blogs, so I was already fairly excited :) Firstly the Christmas red box is lovely, unfortunately I am massively clumsy and have managed to accidentally smash the lid to smithereens with my gargantuan feet so I probably won't be keeping this box for storage...

My box had inside: Rituals Shower gel in Mandarin and Mint, MeMeMe Seventh Heaven Skin Primer, Deborah Lippmann Polish and removal mitt, Cargo Lipgloss and Blink + Go Mascara.

This mascara is very good, I've swapped it with my L'Oreal Million Lashes and it's now my daily go to mascara. I get stupid watery eyes for some reason and Blink + Go doesn't flake or smudge at all, the lengthening is good and it comes off very easily with make up remover. Negs are that it doesn't give much volume, and the formula is very liquid-y so you need to wipe excess of the tip. Other than that, brill mascara!

The primer really does smell like Seventh Heaven, it smells like lemon mousse...or some lemon pudding I've had before. Delish! Also noticed it reduces visible pores, helps concealer and foundation go on nicely and so forth.

The lipgloss wasn't particularly wow as colour isn't visible at all but it gives a nice shine, it's not too sticky and I always put a small lipgloss in my bag when I go oot so this shall be my new one.

Ironically enough I posted Deborah Lippmann nail polishes in my Christmas Wishlist and then this showed up a few days later! I wanted Deborah Lippmann polishes since Gaga wore an amazing grey one in a Vanity Fair Shoot and D.L released a shade inspired by her called Bad Romance (which looks a bit like the one above but with bigger glitter particles and more of a reddy-purple). This is gorge, fantastically sparkly and very chip resistant!

Forgot to take a picture of the shower foam but the smell is amazing and it feels very luxurious. Summary review - this box was epic! I'm still debating over switching to Jolie Box though as their boxes seem to be consistent in quality of products and make up rather than things like perfume samples (which I don't use). xx

2011 in a blog post

Now onto the second of obligatory December-time blog posts - the year round up. This year has been quite major for me changes wise, I finished my A Levels, left school, decided to take a gap year, got a place at university, got my first proper job, started to properly learn Japanese and met new people. I also dyed my hair lilac, went skiing for the the first time, went to Portugal for my first holiday sans famille, saw Dolphins for the first time, dressed up as a maid from Transsexual Transylvania and probably a lot more, but the vodka has made me forget a lot.

(I joke of course)

Blog wise I considered quitting a lot earlier in the year but I love it too much to quit, and now I'm actually feeling a lot happier about it! I was a pretty appalling blogger this year, I clicked my 'outfit' tag and I only did 20 outfit posts this entire year! What the devil was I doing all year? Probably watching true blood actually or procrastinating from exam revision. That means I only did an outfit post every 18 and a bit days, shoddy blogger much?! Anyhoo this is all the outfit posts of the year labouriously gridified by me using Excel and Paint...

Style wise I think I've definitely progressed throughout the year and I'm much better at wearing what suits my figure, and my hair and make up skillz are definitely a lot better now!

This is the obligatory 'LOOK AT MY NEW CRAP' post that happens every year after Christmas. Personally I love having a nosey at seeing what everyone got! I spent Christmas at my aunt and uncle's, which was fun but means we have no leftovers this year...I'm rather missing having turkey everything for the weeks after Christmas! I got some lovely pressies, I like to think I'm fairly easy to buy for as anything Hello Kitty or Gaga makes me happy!

I took your guy's advice after I asked which earring to get a couple of posts back, and chose an ear tunnel.

It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be but I love it! This was my make up for the day, wearing my new Topshop lipstick (only the tiniest bit darker than 17's Showbiz by the way, I honestly think the 17 one is better value for money), and falsies. You know it's a good day when you false eyelashes don't fall off.

My Christmas OOTD was basically the same as my last outfit post but with red accessories and lots of glittery eye make up! I tried to take a detail shot when I got home but...

...as you can see it is rather errr boobalicious, it looks like it might be dangerous for me to stand on balconies. The wire is from my brother's new Dr Dre Beats, I'm so unbelievably jealous - the sound is incredible!

I also received this interesting notebook...errr not quite sure how to write the thank you letter for this one?!

Received a couple of vouchers too so have had a leetle online spending spree so no doubt will post my gets here. Hope you guys had a amazing Christmas, I'm so excited for New Years Eve! xx

The title has absolutely nothing to do with anything apart from that I've been listening to Nicki Minaj's album on Spotify a lot, still have no idea what Roman's Revenge is about, probably dragons. Anyways quickly snapped a classy mirror shot of what I wore to visit my Gran in London a few days ago, wore these New Look heels but they hurt like a betch so changed to flats as soon as I got there! I haaaate London, coming from living in the middle of absolute nowhere I hate big cities and was convinced I was going to get stabbed or mugged any second...I only got a bit excited when we drove through Chelsea as I hoped I might see the cast of Made In Chelsea, needless to say I didn't. Also tried doing a cat eye with my eyeliner and it kinda worked!

It took me about a thousand years but it did to the job of making my eyes look more almond shaped and less small as I usually make them look when I attempt liquid eyeliner. In other news I've been working for about a month now and I like my job, a bit hectic as the shop I work in is part of a tourist destination; but it gives me a chance to practise my Japanese, I say the formal argiatou gozaimasu to Japanese tourists and I get a 'sugoi!!!' ('cool!!!') in return as they don't expect it! Well this has been a bit of a ramble, probs won't post before Christmas but I'll go and reply to comments now. Happy Christmas everyone!! xx

I had the most boring weekend ever, I spent all of sat working in the vintage shop (that no one ever buys anything from, so basically 7 hours of my life I will never get back) then babysitting, then doing absolutely bugger all today. Howevs I am soooo excited because my boyfriend and all my friends at uni start coming back next week! xx

Glossybox November Review

1) Nail Rock nail wraps - This was initially the highlight of the box for me, I'd wanted to try nail wraps for ages and I loved the design I was sent. However about six thousand years later of trying to get the stupid things to stick on I am eternally grateful I never bought them full price, they normally retail at about £6, complete rip off imo! Even after several minutes blasting my nails with a hair dryer they refused to stick on, as you can see above, and supposedly you are supposed to file off the surplus to leave smooth edges - this just made the sticker split and look jagged and untidy. I took them all off as soon as I was done, they just looked ridiculous, all crinkly and peeling at the edges.

2) Phillip Kingsley Elasticizer - Tbh I don't really need any more elasticity or bounce to my hair, it needs the opposite! It did make my hair feel a bit softer but nothing that I can't achieve with my normal conditioner, and it was a pain to have to leave it to work for 20 mins. Not really my cup of tea.

3) Dead Sea Magik Gentle Cleansing Facial Wash - This product I've probably used the most, it makes my skin feel squeaky clean and has helped clear up some spots. Actually considering repurchasing this. Also it's a really pretty pearly colour.

4) FC5 Cooling Foot Cream - When I saw this is I was kind of like lolwut, I mean foot cream, really?! Haven't really noticed a difference in my feet but it smells nice. For God's sake don't rub your eyes after using this, it burns like a bitch.

5) Illamasqua Freak Perfume sample - I guess this smelt nice but I hardly ever use perfume, so it wasn't really for me! Also the name is a bit stupid, the description is lovely and mysterious...couldn't they have come up with something better than Freak?

I think a lot of people were fairly disappointed with November's Glossybox, I found it a fairly 'meh' box. I hope this month's is better! Has anyone had better luck than me with nail wraps? xx

I've been reading so many beauty blogs recently it's ridiculous! One blogger (when I remember who it was I will link here) did an interesting post where she worked out how much her daily face was worth, so I decided to have a look at my everyday essentials and how much my 'daily face' costs me...

But if we take into consideration that my HD Brow Palette came with a GlossyBox so is worth about £3.50, the Benetint is sample sized and was free with a magazine so that's worth about £1 and the Revlon Powder my Mum bought me; so the new total would be...£84.30

Still that is, as the French say, une crapload of money. This is what my daily make up looks like:

I really struggle to work out what to wear with midi skirts, I have a coral one as well (which my friend specifically said she would burn as she hates pleats) but I've hardly ever worn them, without heels they make me feel too formal for some reason! Also today...I bought a hat!

I worked at the vintage shop for the first time...and no one bought anything. Seriously. So I used the time to do my Japanese homework and draw pictures of mermaids:

Anyway back to the hat, I saw this lurking and I really wanted a floppy hat and I think the cut out pattern in the brim is a pretty variation on the high street ones - so instead of getting my wages I just asked the owner if I could have the hat instead. I quite like to think that I'll have a collection of hats by the end of my gap yah that makes me nearly as cool as Bebe Zeva. The title of the post is from a Metric song, they wrote the music for the Clash at Demonhead in Scott Pilgrim vs The World - I love them! xx

The first outfit post in an age, I think I was well on the way to solely becoming a beauty blogger!

I love these leggings, I got them as a cheapo version of the Motel Jordan jean as frankly I don't have the money to buy them and I prefer leggings at the moment anyway! I wish I could get more use out of this bag too, but the strap is horrifically long (the bag comes down to my knees) and I can't see a way to permanently shorten the strap, at the moment I just knot it so it's shorter but it looks lumpy at stupid :/

In other news I got a weekend job in a family friend's vintage shop - by myself! So its just going to be me, in the shop, on my own *gulp* There's no till either (it's that much of a small shop) so I've had to dig out my calculator so I don't short change/massively over change people with my terrible mental maths! But I'm excited about what I should wear, the shop has a sort of pin up 50's imagery so I'm thinking red lippy, black eyeliner etc. Plus I'm being paid more than the pittance I get for temping - yay! xx

Beauty Box

I was recently at my best friend's house, and when she did her make up she pulled out what looks like a giant DIY toolbox. But it was actually one of those giant make up cases that make up artists use...

I decided to get one myself from ebay here and I'm really pleased with it. Normally my make up storage looked like this:

Packed away in lots of different make up bags meant I had to rummage through everything to find the bag with eyeshadow or lipgloss in, but now everything is in one place!

Check out my craft skillz in creating a divider for the bottom section above, nothing sellotape and a bit of cardboard can't solve heh heh

This is my make up collection, not including my nail polish or everyday shiz, and I'm tempted now to buy another beauty box just to put my false eyelashes and make up palettes in as they didn't fit! I now can't decide whether I have way too much make up or not enough now...how do you store your make up? xx

Revlon Facets of Fuschia Review

I bought this after seeing it on Fleur's blog and I wasn't dissapointed! Apparently its a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Gaga inspired shade 'Bad Romance' which I wanted because, well I will buy anything associated with the Gaga, but as far as my googling investigations have discovered it's sehr expensive and only available in the US - thus this Revlon one was a better alternative! And after comparing swatches of Bad Romance/Facets of Fuschia online, I think FOF is prettier anyway.

I added this silver glitter polish I bought from a pound shop as a topcoat - weirdly enough its amazing at preventing polish from chipping considering it was only £1!

I'm a big fan of Revlon nail polishes, I think they are definitely the best for their longetivity, for example guess how old this nail polish is?

22 years old - and it still works! My mum bought it on her honeymoon all those years ago and it's still an awesome polish. Do you guys have a fav nail polish brand? xx

Haven't posted for a ridiculously long time - again! I went to visit my boyfriend at uni for the weekend and then went to a Rocky Horror Picture Show screening with my bestie. I bought an Ann Summer's maid outfit (don't judge me, twas the cheapest maid costume on ebay) and then wore it twice albeit with variation...

First of all I was a dead maid (maid costume + plus a lot of fake blood):

My boyfriend was a pig...in a suit

And a close up of my make up, the fake blood felt disgusting, after it dried I could feel it cracking every time I smiled.

...and then I was Magenta from the Rocky Horror show (and my bestie was Columbia, with a hat made out of a flowerpot XD)

And a close up of the Magenta make up! I'm pleased with how the make up turned out, I actually managed to get my falsies to stay on (although this was taken at the end of the night and one of the bottom lashes is making a bid for freedom). I had to backbrush my hair to get it as big as Magenta's and detangling it the next day was sehr painful, my hair is so thick it took forever to brush it out, and now my scalp hurts like a bitch. Do not recommend backbrushing at entire head of hair!! What did you guys do for Halloween? xx

Glossy Box September Review

I wrote this post ages ago and forgot to publish it! I caved in after seeing so many blogger reviews of Glossy Box and signed myself up, and received my first box recently. Its fairly pricey (£12.95) and I'm not sure I can justify it at the moment as I should be saving, but you definitely get what you pay for, the packaging is amazing and some of the samples are full size products.

1) HD Brows Palette - (Have done a full review on this, just scroll down!) This product is absolutely brilliant, the best thing I have received in a glossybox so far!
2) Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse - Smells delish, left my skin feeling really soft. Would not use on my hair though like it suggests.
3) Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm - Looks similar to the Sanctuary's Thermal face mask but didn't feel like it heated up at all, however left my skin feeling nice and dewy and smells good.
4) Plum by Mary Greenwell - Smells amazing, but I just don't really wear perfume at all!
5) Rahua Shampoo and Conditioner - To be honest quite disappointing, didn't smell very nice, shampoo didn't lather very well and conditioner did nothing for me. Would prefer my normal Pantene over this any day. 'meh' is my review summary of these two.

I think I better start describing myself as a beauty blogger now considering the last 3 posts have been beauty related! Off to have a play around with my camera, want to have more outfit posts on this blog but all pictures I've taken recently have been blurry, so irritating :/ xx

I won a set of nails from the lovely Marina at Forever the Ugly Duckling (go check out her blog, she has amazing nail art skillz) in her blog giveaway, first time I've ever won something in a giveaway so was very excited!

I stuck the nails on with some blutack just to show you guys what they look like, but I'm going to put them on properly at halloween, I think they'll go nicely with my costume (I'm going as Magenta from Rocky Horror).

Will try and do an outfit post tomorrow, working quite a lot now so more monies to buy clothes yay!! xx

Tutorial: How to clean a foundation brush

Hey guys just a quickie tutorial that I thought I would show here, because it works so well! All you need is:

- A plastic bowl

- Washing up liquid

- Cooking oil

- Your dirty foundation brush

Add two parts fairy liquid...

...to one part cooking oil

Mix it all up with your foundation brush

You can see all the foundation being drawn out of the brush into the oil and fairy liquid

Rinse and dry

And voila, clean spangly foundation brush to be used with your fav foundation!

HD Brows Review

Like a lot of other bloggers who subscribe to Glossy Box, I received an HD Brow palette in September's box, and I love it! Normally I don't fuss with my eyebrows as they don't grow much, I had been using a Rimmel Brow pencil in Hazel but it was a bit too much of an orangey-brown for my brow colour. This product is personally what I think made the September Glossy Box worth it (£12.95 I think per box), as on the HD Brows website the palettes retail for £19.95!

The great thing about the palette is it is both a brow and eye palette, and as I only use one colour for my brows (which I find matches my hair colour better than my brows naturally do...lolwut) I used the remaining colours to do a smokey brown eye.

I look very blah here as took the photo at about 2am, while skyping my bestie, hence the ear phones!

I personally now feel like 'doing' my brows is as essential as concealer, it really makes a difference to your face! What do you guys use product-wise on your eyebrows? xx

Also anyone who like to deco I highly recommend poundland/99p shops and whatnot, their craft sections are always a goldmine for decoden supplies. Picked up these gems and a cute pink storage box the other day to tidy deco supplies.

Dead leaves and the dirty ground

So I know its been boiling the past few days and I've just been lounging about in shorts and a tank top, but today it cooled down a bit and this is what I wore:

Went and handed in more CV's today in this, I hope it made appear nice and employable. Job hunting is so bloody depressing! And it doesn't help that everyone's facebook at the moment shows them having an amazing time at university on fresher's week while I mope around trying to get some fool to employ me...really hope taking a gap year is worth it in the end! Anyway end of depressing rant, I'm so glad I can finally crack out some clothes I bought for the Autumn! I saw someone online going on about how predictable the Autumn colour scheme trends are, the same maroon, teal, mustard and browns each year, but I like it! Teal is my favourite colour, the colours all have a really classic feel to them and hey you match the leaves on the ground.

I can't recommend volunteering in a charity shop enough, its hard work but it gives you great work experience, looks fab on your CV, you're doing a good deed and as I have found, you get good bargains! I get a 25% staff discount on top of being able to shotgun any items I like before they even go out on the shop floor...hence on Monday managed to snag a Motel rose print bodycon dress (see above) in mint condition, and two gorgey maroon coloured jumpers for when it starts getting chilly. So yes I would highly advise volunteering guys! xx

Greetings! So it has been a ridiculously long time since I blogged but weirdly enough (and I mean it IS weird, normally all I do is sit at home on tumblr for days on end) I have been busy being social and whatnot! I work two days a week at the charity shop I mentioned last post which is going well, you do get some crazy people coming in though and sadly a lot of shoplifters, so one of my main duties is to glare suspiciously at anyone who comes in. Anyway this is what I wore to work today, just nice and simple! Pretty much all the lilac in my hair has faded now but I'm reluctant to dye it again, as I'm pleased with how I managed to get the ombre to be gradual this time and pink might make the blonde go orange, thoughts guys? xx

Haven't done an outfit post in an age! Found this top on Ebay, it has stills from Gaga's Poker Face video printed all over it, sadly the colours like the vivid blues aren't quite as bright as the video but its still cute! Having partially lilac hair I'm now worrying that my hair clashes with my outfits, I suppose redheads have this worry too?! This outfit post was taken on a snazzy Gorillapod tripod (the crazy bendy ones that can cling to trees and whatnot), the first time I've bought something specifically FOR the blog; I've vowed to work hard on it on my gap yah! In other news I'm ticking the first thing off my gap year to do list, I start volunteering at a charity shop on Monday, its my first time in a work environment and I'm going to have to learn how to use a till - eeek wish me luck! xx

Lilac Ombre Fail

I was tweeting recently about how I was attempting to do a coloured version of ombre, but it went a bit down the pothole as firstly I didn't bleach my hair blonde enough, and then put pastel pink dye over the top which turned my hair ORANGE! So to counter this I put lilac dye over the top and it ended up looking a bit strange. So then I spent a good few hours in the dead of night till 6 am bleaching my hair section by section (I have very thick hair) with foils till I got it as blonde as possible, then mixed lilac and pastel pink dye to get a pinky purple colour and then put all that on with foils...lets just say it took a long time!! This is what it looks like now:

I wanted the colour to be a lot brighter but I went through two boxes of bleach and still couldn't get my hair the platinum blonde colour it needs to be to 'take' the dye. Still I quite like the faded silvery/purple look but I think once the colour faded I'll go to the hair dressers and get it done properly!! xx

P.S Any True Blood fans reading? I'm wearing a Bon Temps football t-shirt my friend got me from the HBO webstore, ~~I like to pretend it is Jason's~~ I love it!

My new boyfriend I found poking out from underneath some leaves, it says we don't need no education underneath...maybe he's a pink floyd fan? No idea what the poster was for!

I'm not sure what this animal was called, its not a beaver but it was adorable, it couldn't have cared less about people walking past, it was completely wild and let me squat down right by it to take a photo and just carried on digging away!

Creepy silence of the lambs moth that was the size of my palm

I got back from France on Sunday, after taking 3 trains and the underground in both Paris and London to get home...I got scammed by people at the station in Paris pretending to be collecting money for a children's hospital but then promptly ran away as soon as I gave them some money, I felt pretty stupid afterwards but also what a sick way to scam people! Anyway I had a lovely hol, enjoying the french food (apart from the lack of cheddar upset me greatly) and I went to a French market hence the sneaky photos. We also went to a sort of town event with live music one evening which was err interesting, it involved covers of dance music and general top 40 stuff and then some backing dancers, a man dressed as a crocodile and another guy guy who occassionally flashed the audience came on stage; and several village people covers ensued. The local youths were also throwing some impressive shapes in the front of the stage, I was hoping someone would do some tecktonik so I could show off my mad skillz but sadly no one did. Anyway I'm off to bleach my hair (again) to try and get it light enough to do lilac ombre - hope you enjoyed this post! xx

Tutorial: Gaga rhinestone beauty spot

So recently in the Judas video and just in her general wear (I may or may not religiously stalk gagadaily.com, I highly recommend them to any Gaga fan), Gaga has been sporting a rhinestone beauty spot. And as I am just waiting for my Shepherd's Pie to finish cooking I thought I'd write up a quick fun tutorial on how to achieve this look without the aid of Val Garland or sexy Nicola Formichetti...

1) Apply a circle of liquid eyeliner slightly bigger than the rhinestone and let it dry.

2) Apply a dot of eyelash glue in the center of the eyeliner spot and allow to go tacky.

3) Stick the rhinestone down so there is a ring of black around it.

Et voila!

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial! I'm actually off on a family holiday to France for the week on Saturday so may not be blogging, although I'm taking my laptop with me, I may not be able to get online as the internet nazis (my parents) will be in full force. In case you didn't know my internet hours are limited from 10am-11pm each day, which I'm sure is an infringement of my human rights...something to do with making sure I sleep and get work done. I've wanted to do a White Stripes themed outfit for ages, I always used to think about what I would wear to a White Stripes gig and this is what I probably would've worn. They broke up earlier this year and when I found out I was like fhskjdfhs&^%"!!! I never got to see my favourite band live! I was first introduced to them when an old friend's family were playing their album Get Behind Me Satan in the car when I was about 14 and since then they have been my favourite band.

Their clothing, album covers, music videos etc focused predominantly around the colour scheme of red, white and black; Jack White said those colours were: 'The most powerful color combination of all time, from a Coca-Cola can to a nazi banner'. So true! Neither colour drowns out the other, each is equally bold.

This look is the only time I think my blog's namesake has ever been in an outfit, my jacket is absolutely covered in sequins and beads! This is purely for blog purposes as I'm too scared to wear this jacket out, it was my Grandmother's and is so beautiful. Its very heavy to wear thanks to all the embellishments, and I'm terrified of loosening the stitching or anything so it stays in my wardrobe along with some other amazing vintage pieces I have of hers (such as this metallic pink/purple 80s ball dress I showed here). Is anyone else pissing themselves about A level results this thurs? I'm beginning to die a little inside at the thought of them!! xx

I like Eyelure lashes, Kimberley's in the Girls Aloud range they have are lovely, howevs Eyelure glue is beyond craptastic so I will try these out with my new supa dupa Duo glue when I go out 2mro, and review them then. Also seem to have gained some bloglovin' followers recently, so happy! xx

I'm writing this from my death bed (not really, I'm just ill). I've been room bound for the past few days with a horrible cold which makes me feel like death warmed up. I googled the symptoms and it looks like Laryngitis with a horrible cold on the side, so its difficult to breathe out of my nose AND mouth. Fun times. Anyways I really should do an outfit post but I look so rough that anyone who reads would scream and press the little red 'x' in the corner sharpish so I though I'd do a 'look at my new shiz' type post.

I wore the purple ones to my leaver's ball and damn they are high! They're 5 inches which is the highest pair I own and I consider that quite high, maybe I'm just a heel noob though?

These black wedges are gorgeous, I've never worn them out though! They're a lovely faux black suede and look great on but they are gravity defying, and the fact they have that really annoying raised tip on the front of the shoe that I keep finding on wedges means they're like having rocking chairs on your feet, so you're liable to lose your balance and be tipped fowards into a nice face plant by the damn things. I was walking up and down the landing trying to get used to them Gaga style by doing the 'walk walk fashion baby' part from Bad Romance (don't judge) and I actually fell sideways into the wall - thus I'm too scared to wear them in public, god knows what could happen after a couple of shots of tequila if I tried to throw some shapes on a dance floor while wearing them?!! So yes at this stage they stay in my wardrobe and occasionally I get them out, marvel at how pretty they are and then put them away again. xx

The girl above's job was to sit on a rock pretending to be a mermaid to welcome visitors as they came into the entrance to the marine zoo...this is like my frickin dream job, dressing up as a mermaid and getting paid for it!

Got back yesterday from my first holiday abroad sans famille, had so much fun! I wouldn't say it was very cultural (although I can now say thank you in Portuguese - obrigado), everyone spoke English, there were Irish pubs, I think have gained a stone from eating burgers and chips everyday and there was certainly nothing in the way of museums to visit. Things I have learnt is that we English stick out like a sore thumb, and apparently have a reputation for being easy as the Portuguese men (regardless of what we were wearing) wolf whistled, cat called, said hello to us wherever we went. We went clubbing while there and our dancing was pretty much scandalous compared to what the Portuguese girls were doinb, and our club wear (i.e bandage skirts and a tank top) induced one guy to pretend to have a heart attack at the sight of us which was quite amusing! It did get quite creepy on one of the nights we went out when some guys closed via a ring around us on the dance floor and one guy was so persistent that my friend dance with him (read: grind) that she had to shove him off her and it very nearly ended in fisticuffs. I suppose its the same in clubs in England but they weren't doing the same to the Portuguese girls so I'm guessing tourists have a reputation for being very err 'available'. Quite scary really! Typical English person style I got horribly burnt and now have some interesting patchy tan lines where I slapped my sun cream on, you could tell exactly who was from Portugal and who wasn't as the locals were all very tanned, had tattoos (I'm guessing cos you can show them off a lot on the beach) and the women all wear anklets. Yes I have bought some. We also went to a marine zoo and saw dolphin and sea lion shows which were amazing, I really want a sea lion now they're so sweet! Anyway enough rambling xx

Blogging is depressing

I had completely forgotten to keep track of the date, but my blog is now 2 years old as of Saturday! Unfortunately this is not going to be much of a celebratory post as of a bit of a downer one. I've been considering quitting blogging a lot lately, for the fact is it feels like no one is reading. I've been blogging for 2 years and I've gained 45 followers in that time. I appreciate everyone one of you but I can't help but look at other girl's blogs and think, 'she's been blogging for a few months now and has a gazillion followers, it feels like I've been blogging for forever and I have nothing compared to her. *scrolls down* she gets a million comments a post, why do I only get a few if I'm lucky? Are my posts boring? Am I boring? Is there something wrong with my layout? Am I not commenting on other blogs enough? Surely I should have a more popular blog after two years?

Then I spend ages putting an outfit post together and standing awkwardly in front of my cameras self timer to find my outfit looks crap, source inspiration for outfits on Lookbook and find myself feeling completely inadequate to all the skinny, doe eyed, pouting girls on there.

However as much as sometimes want to quit blogging I won't, or at least I'd never delete my blog. My blog feels like an extension of my diary, I've written since I took my GCSE's, through when I had a house fire. I've learnt a whole load about fashion, if I hadn't started blogging I wouldn't be able to recognise who designed a collection instantly when reading a magazine, or pick up a top in a high street shop and think 'oh that's a rip off the Miu Miu swallow print'.

I certainly wouldn't have known as much about or be as fascinated as I am now by Japanese fashions and culture. Another positive point of blogging being that you are connected with bloggers throughout the world, who have different styles that can influence your own and completely open up your mind. Also blogging is a addictive, I feel a need to share things that happen, things I buy, things I like on here.

I think I better open up a 'rant' label to put this under haha! Sorry to be depressing, do any other bloggers feel like this?

Wore this hanging out with my best friend, went to some museums in town to stalk the Roman sections as my pal has an frankly freaky obsession with the emperors Caligula and Nero. Went to see the hangover 2 which was funny, but basically the first one but in a different country. Also this is the first time I've worn this t-shirt out as the tag line 'it hurts so good' is a bit awkward to be walking around wearing, my Dad asked me what that was so supposed to mean once and I muttered something along the lines of vampires and so forth rather having to explain fangbangers! First time using false nails!

I put up a pic of the falsies I made last post, and I actually put some on for the first time today, and I have to say I love them!

The little finger nails are a little too long (I had to spent a long time cutting down and filing each nail to shape as they were so long) but for my first go at false nails I made myself I don't think its too bad! The glue has stayed pretty strong too considering the fact it came free with some cheapo nails off Ebay. I'd really recommend this to anyone who loves nail art but gets pissed off at your nails chipping after you spent hours labouring over a design. I've found a tutorial on youtube for taking off false nails that doesn't involve using nail polish remover as obvs doing that would take the nail polish off your falsies if you've painted them:

I went out the other night with friends to a Japanese themed club thinking I was going to be in my element etc but unfortunately as Japanese as it got was these pictures on the doors to the loos, Renji from Bleach on the Gents' and this character on the Ladies' door who I originally thought was Moka from Rosario+Vampire but I don't think it is...anyone know what manga/anime she's from? Her hair is pink, and she is wearing a dark green school uniform.

Finally have started taking the advice of bloggers who rave about charity shops and they're so much fun! Picked up the crochet top (was also very tempted to come to fisticuffs to procure a sheer blouse that a middle aged woman had just picked up) and this oversized denim jacket below.

Spent ages making false nails after reading Gem's post, they look so much better than nail polish on your actual nails! The only thing I'm worried about it actually removing the false nail, as surely the nail remover will take some of the nail varnish off the nail?

Oh and a quick snap of Mussy and her babies. I thought this illustrated quite how big she is/small the piglets are!

I'm going to London tomorrow for a family event I don't particularly want to attend and the 'big smoke' is not really my scene either, too big and scary and being a country girl if I don't see a field or a pheasant every 15 minutes I'm bound to get twitchy, so will try and blog when I get back.

The other evening I was really bored so I decided to try out gyaru style make up again:

I used different lashes this time, the top ones were off Ebay and the bottom lashes are Dolly Wink pure little which I still need to review!

I also attempted a nose stripe, any gyaru who read this will probably piss themselves laughing at my shoddy attempt. I thinking I did better my first attempt at gyaru make up! I still epically fail at putting on false eyelashes...

I've been thinking more about Gyaru style and whether its something I would like to get into more, but as much as love aspects of it like the decoden, nail art, hair, make up and para para I don't love the actual clothing, as from what I've gathered reading gal blogs and Gyaru secrets (think the gyaru version of the infamous style blog fuck up) it seems it can get cliquey and a little bitchy with gal circles (I don't understand why you have to be in a group and 'graduate' from it to follow a certain fashion...do goths have goth circles lol?!). My opinions about it are probably very ignorant considering I'm not gyaru, feel free to correct me!

Just a quickie with some things I bought recently, I went into Primark and picked up a lot of girly things, was so pleased to find an usamimi (wire headband) in there! Kept seeing them on Japanese fashion magazine scans so I'm glad they have finally been picked up overseas. Also picked up the pink version of the Barry M special effects nail polish which Boots seem to be really pushing at the moment, definately prefer it to the black version and it looks great with pastel colours. Beginning to really stress about A Levels and gap year plans, wish I could just fast foward through the next month TT

Went back to school on Wed unfortunately. Howevs did manage to miss a whole hour of a double Ancient History lesson because when we went to our normal classroom all we found was rubble where it had been demolished! By the time we found the right room the fire alarm went off so that was another 20 mins gone. While we were being registered during the drill a girl in my year told me I look like Velma from Scooby Doo haha. I guess this skirt would be excellent if I ever cosplayed her?!

My parents got me a new camera which I completely wasn't expecting! So now blog pictures should be a lot better and no more having to buy expensive AA batteries to power my current camera - hooray! Also my brothers got me the first two white stripes albums (so now I have all of their albums) which are amazing, I love 'Hello Operator' off De Stijl. I also received a Lady Gaga music book so Imma try to reawaken my grade 2 piano skillz.

I also ordered this Topshop stripey dress while I was in France, not quite sure how to wear it yet, I'm thinking brown brogues?

Hola mi amigos this post is coming to you from a small Apline village! I'm babysitting for my little cousin and her friend while my aunt and uncle ski for a week. I'm basically picking them up from their childrens ski chool and then walking them back to the chalet everyday. The French people working there must think I am a teenage mum walking around the village with them! It has been about ten times more stressful than normal babysitting, and I am beginning to see the benefits of toddler reins as they will quite happily run into the road if you don't herd them properly.

Howevs it been a good experience in that I've had to be a lot more independent. I took the local bus once and didn't know where my stop was so asked the bus driver (in french) if he spoke english and he pretended he didn't understand me and after I repeated myself he looked at me like I suggested he was into bondage or something and went 'NON' and then I had to in my shite French explain that I thought my stop was near a supermarket and he rambled a load of stuff in French and told me to get off the bus so I was lost in the rain for about 30 mins...but I did navigate a supermarket with the two toddlers and the cashier understood my French there so I reckon its just the bastarding bus driver!

Its weirdly sunny here, my fam have to go to the next resort to ski because of the lack of snow, its probably actually hotter than england! The village is really pretty and how you'd imagine a skiing village with everything made of wood, and for some reason lots of Christmas decorations are still up. It is also full of these really grotesque looking statues carved from wood, I particularly like this one of some a pig/pigs outside a restaurant.

It was my Birthday on Thursday so I'm now 18, yay! Going back home 2mro so back to more regular posting then.

This is quite a random finally friday as I have a few random photos to share!

One of my besties got her first tattoo during lunch break at school today, an Egyptian eye of Horus on the back of her neck, love this so much! I can't believe how brave she was as well considering its fairly big and also on her neck so near a ton of nerves but apparently it just felt a bit scratchy when it went over bone?! *shudders*

(that isn't blood btw its ink around the dressing)

1) I turn 18 in just under two weeks! I can't wait, it'll be so nice to be able to properly go out and not have to worry about ID and be able to buy alcohol, and to legally be an adult! Howevs not looking foward to not being able to rely on adults as much, make scary life decisions etc. Although I will still claim to be 15 and buy child tickets on the bus tehe!

2) I'll be in France on my birthday in a skiing village as I am helping look after my little cousins while they are on holiday with my aunt and uncle, so I'll be picking them up from ski school and things. I hope the internet connection will be good there and I will try and blog from the chalet, I'm hoping I don't get homesick/lonely being away from my immediate family and friends on my birthday.

3) I've decided to stop blogging from may 15th till my exams end in late June as I've just signed up for 2 psychology module retakes and I'm doing my English AS exam for the THIRD time because the last time I retook I was 1 mark off A...FML!! And then my Ancient History teacher decides to surprise my whole class with signing us all up to retake Greek History AS because he wants to bump up our marks a little...then after my retakes I have my A2 exams which I need to do well in to get into university etc and seeing as my epic lack of work let me down at GCSE and AS I actually need to knuckle down this time! Of course I will keep reading everyone's blogs though, I think my main weakness in blogging is I read other peoples blogs a lot but don't update mine enough!

Greetings! So a while back I posted about my love for the whole galaxy/cosmic print trend, and I bought the dress I showed in the collage I made. I'm pretty sure I'm wearing it to my schools leaver's ball in July but before that my friend took some photos of me in it for her A level art work as she is doing an art nouveau theme so she'll paint/draw from these pics. We had a ton of lols taking these photos, and I got a few strange looks walking through my schools art department wearing this with my big black coat over the top to cover my modesty hehe

British museum trip

Last year I posted about my school trip with my Ancient History class to the British museum and we went again last Wednesday, here are some of the pics I took.

These sculptures are taken from the Parthenon which was a giant temple in Athens for Athena, these reclining women were probably goddesses.

Drawing the statue of the women above, my friends and I were sitting against some pillars in the museum so we could draw them; and my friend pointed out some guy who was a Zachary Quinto lookalike but unfortunately a tourist thought we were checking him out and gave us a very wide creepy smile haha!

We found a massive empty area next to some conference/lecture rooms downstairs in the museum and so ate our packed lunches there and I got my bestie to take outfit pics for me.

Haha excuse my mental plaits and wonky scarf I blame several hours on a coach to Londres XD

I wore basically the same outfit in a recent post but with a dress instead of a bandage skirt but I love this combo! And nails:

So it isn't Friday (fail) but I've been so busy I had no chance to post properly! Sozzles the pics are a bit cam-whorey, I was messing around with pink lippy and decided to take some Cindy Sherman style pictures on the webcam so I could draw from them. I went on two school trips this week one after the other, the British museum for Ancient History on Wednesday and then on Thursday to one of the UCL lecture halls to have 4 HOURS of lectures on the Great Gatsby. It was weird to have an insight into what uni might be like!

I forgot that the lovely Imogen tagged me on her blog, and I haven't done of these in ages so here goes:

Why did you create this blog?

Through a random Google search I came across Hannah's blog and I began to read other blogs she featured, eventually I thought I could blog too so I started up Sequins&Beads to share my ramblings with the blogosphere. My blog will be 2 years old in June and it hasn't come as far as many other bloggers who started their blogs after me but blogging is addictive so I will continue for now :)

What types of blogs do you follow?

All fashion/beauty/lifestyle based but a really wide spectrum, I read a lot of Gyaru, Lolita and Japanese street style blogs as I am sehr interested in Japan!

Don't really have but No7 has been coming up trumps for me recently.

Yay another outfit post! I nearly threw my camera at the wall as for some reason it is starting to to only take photos blurred on self timer and my blog photographer (younger brother) now refuses to take outfit photos unless I pay him grrrrr. I wore this out to see True Grit and have a pizza with some friends today, hoping it would be a lovely spring day but no it was bloody cold as usual, howevs True Grit was brilliant and at times unintentionally hilarious I would recommend you go see it! The satchel is my new baby, although the first time I bought it off Ebay I was walking to school like 'ooh look at me with my snazzy new bag' and then the satchel strap snapped and fell off my shoulder onto the ground XD fml! So one tersely written email to seller later and they sent me a replacement which hasn't broken yet thank god! Will get another post up soonish, off to reply to the lovely comments on the hair tutorial post :)

How to: Alexander Wang pastel plait

I've been seeing a lot of pastel hair inspiration around recently, especially in Topshop's styling, where the models have streaks of pastel greens and blues in their hair. My new favourite quick hair style is an Alexander Wang inspired messy plait, which is so easy to do and looks chic even when its messy! So here is a tutorial on how to combine both pastel hair (without any dye) and the side plait.

You will need: Clip in hair streaks (I bought mine on Ebay), and a small hair tie/elastic band.

First put your hair down and brush through so it isn't knotty.

Brush your hair to one side.

Lift up sections of your hair (only over the side you have brushed your hair), and clip the hair streaks underneath so you can't see the clip.

Continue adding hair streaks in the same or different colours (I put it quite a few as my hair is so thick too few hair streaks aren't visible XD)

Once you have finished adding the hair streaks, plait your hair. It doesn't matter if the plait is messy, the ones Alexander Wang used on the catwalk were chunky and loose with flyaways on the crown, so the messier the better!

Tie the bottom with a small hair band.

Et voila, and interesting variation on the Alexander Wang side plait!

This is my new Topshop peter pan dress which I nabbed in the sale for just £12 and I'm so happy with it! Technically it is a tunic though and hella short so I'm wearing both a bandage skirt and cycling shorts (which are life savers with how short high street hems are these days) underneath.

My blog photographer (my younger brother) is being a wanker and refusing to take outfit photos so I have to rely on propping my terrible camera up on my dressmaker's dummy and using the self timer - hence the bluriness and strange angles!

Also these are my new bottines, I laaav them, although it has been pointed out to me that I already have them in the non- ankle boot version.

This is my boot collection now! I think I am become quite a shoe person which is alarming to my bank balance; I have cream and tan coloured brogues and I'm now thinking I need a black pair to complete my collection?!

Today I broke up for half term at 12ish so spent the rest of the day hanging out with my bezzies, watching TV and eating fish and chips, I feel so ill now!! Anyways I will try and blog more now I have a week off, I plan to do a hair tutorial next.

Sorry I know I haven't done an outfit post in an age! I really want to start wearing skirts and dresses again but part of my commute to school is walking and it is still sooo cold in the mornings, and I have a shortage of thick tights + freezing windy morning = very cold Georgie. Thus I am in jeans with my beloved Zara tan pixie boots with about a hundred layers on my top half pretty much every day, not very interesting for an outfit post! However I think it may have warmed up slightly today so fingers crossed maybe I can go wild and not wear a vest soon.

Snazzy Ipod Touch case - Ebay

1) This is just an excuse to show off my new Hello Kitty Itouch case, its so shiny and its Hello Kitty! Of course I didn't deco this myself, I have made a case which I may show here but its pretty meh.
2) My favourite band, The White Stripes, broke up last Wednesday. I've loved them since I was about 13 and have all their albums bar two. Jack White still has two other bands (the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather) but it kills me I'll never see The White Stripes live! :( I'm going to do a White Stripes pic spam later this week, I miss them soooo.

3) In other music related shennanigans, Gaga's single off her new album (Born this way) came out today *fangirl squeeee* and I love it! It totally sums up what she stands for in championing anyone who has felt caged by society in whatever way. In fact we bloggers can take a lot of inspiration in being more adventureous with what we wear, so if you'll excuse me I'm off to whip up a dress from empty Tesco Danish Whirl boxes - toodles!

Coloured Mascaras Review ♥

I've been looking for more ways to make my everyday make up more creative yet still quick as I don't have much time to get ready in the mornings, so coloured mascara seems like a good idea. I picked up these two the other day and decided to review them for you guys.

Collection 2000 Extreme Coloured Lengthening Mascara in teal and Barry M Electric Purple Lengthening Mascara

First up is the Barry M mascara:

Barry M always draws me in because of the arrange of colours, I can't usually pass the Barry M section in Boots without leaving without a nail polish or two; even though their products aren't that brilliant quality. Firstly, for Barry M the packaging is fairly dissapointing and plain, although the colour of the tube is similar to the actual Mascara to give them credit. The wand shape is fairly bog standard and I can't say it really gives much lengthening effect unless you load on several coats of the mascara which results in clumpy lashes (which has a thick, sticky consistency that makes it difficult to take off), I used eyelash curlers as well as the mascara to get the result below. Most dissapointing is the colour though, which on the tube is claimed to be 'electric purple', this is definately not electric purple more of a plum colour which is only noticeable very close up. Also it is fairly expensive at £5.19...I'd say avoid this one! However I have read some good reviews for the blue version so that may be worth a go.

Secondly is the Collection 2000 masara:

Again the main problem with this product is that the colour description is wrong, this mascara is not teal it is turquoise! The wand is smaller than the Barry M one and has less grip on the lashes but it still coated them more easily and with more lash definition. It also has a much more noticeable colour, better consistency and legthening effect in my opinion. Plus the packaging is much more snazzy, and its only £2.99, much cheaper than the Barry M mascara. Verdict: Do want more coloured mascara from Collection 2000!

1) Not much happened this week, I've been experimenting with my Dolly Wink Pure Little Lashes and I will try and review them this weekend.

2) Well actually something did happen now I think about it, I received a letter from Downing St in the post (thinking it was another bank letter wasn't that excited till I flipped it over and 10 DOWNING STREET was printed on the back!). It was in response to my letter to David Cameron about the governments' plans to build a second high speed rail through England which is going to destroy my village, and a lot of other homes; also villages, farmland and areas of natural beauty etc. Basically a massively douchebaggy idea to be spending millions on when we already have a high speed rail and they are cutting funds left right and center yet spending about £40 million on railways, last time I checked one of Britain's main problems wasn't a shortage of railways! *calms down a bit* Anyways rant over its another cock up on behalf of the people that run this country, but the reply I got from a certain 'S Caine' thanked me for my 'excellent' letter and said they are fowarding my letter to the department for transport so I am now expecting a reply from them too.

3) I have an A2 Psychology module today (well I'm writing this on a Wednesday so in two days time) wish me luck!!

Review: Sanctuary Warming Charcoal Detox Mask

My Mum bought me this face mask a while ago, and its quite alarming the first time you use it as the mask is self-heating and warms when you put it on your skin! Its weird sensation but this mask does leave your skin feeling very soft as the warmth opens your pores to allow better cleansing. The only negative I can give to this mask is that it does 'draw out impurities' i.e it brings up a few belmishes, but if I remember correctly thats the reaction you are supposed to get from deep cleansing face masks at spas. The mask is £10.20 in Boots (the packaging is slightly different now though) and you can get it here.

Barry M Mint Green & Strawberry with Rimmel liquid eyeliner

One of my hobbies is nail art so this is a new post series where I will show you my current nails. Also have added a page at the top so you can see all of my nail art pics I've put up on here. I did these after following a tutorial on Gem Fatale's Blog which you can see here. I actually did the black using a liquid eyeliner! Its much easier to use than a nail art pen for this pattern and with a couple of top coats over it, it doesn't budge. Have you noticed my excellente posting btw? Thanks to the wonder of scheduled posts I'm trying to get them up on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

He had his 'addendas' snipped two days ago but as soon as we let him out the cat carrier he was tearing around attacking things as usual, suprisingly perky for someone who has just had their balls lopped off haha!

2) I am so stressed right now, I had an English resit on Monday which I'm praying went well and Psychology module next week. Problem is I am terrible at revising (the thought of it makes me more stressed than the actual exam) so I always find it impossible to knuckle down and get to work!

3) I received my second uni offer yesterday (yay!), but I'm sure that my first offer is the university I want to go to. I haven't mentioned what I applied for here yet, my intention throughout my GCSE's and AS's was to apply for English and creative writing as that was always my 'thing' but if you haven't noticed from my blog topics, Japanese culture is really my passion and I am really sick of English literature now; as it ruins books for me if you have to break down and analyse them! So I applied for a range of English and Japanese and just plain Japanese Studies courses, and all of them involve spending a year studying in Japan which I'd love to do. I've applied for deferred entry in all of them so I'll have to endure the fee rise but I know I've made the right decision as I am definately not ready to go to university this September, I want to be able to spend a year becoming more independent by getting a job and building my confidence to have to go and make a whole new set of friends and live in a strange new city. On my gap year I'm planning to go to America for some time with my bestie as I've never been, take a Japanese course, visit my friends who aren't deferring their uni entries and their various universities, get a job and maybe you guys can suggest other things to do?!

Gyaru transformation fun ✰

Today when I should have been revising I got bored, and after reading some Gyaru blogs decided to follow Sara Mari's gyaru eye make up tutorial. I like Gyaru depending on how extreme it gets (I've never fake tanned in my life and don't intend to start now!) but after having a go at the make up I admire Gyaru for the time and effort it takes!

And the wig is my new purchase off Ebay but sadly it doesnt fit on my head properly with my hair tucked underneath it (I'm wearing it with my hair pulled in a low pony tail at the back).

Transformation complete! Personally I think the 'droopy eye' eyeliner which is meant to make your eyes look bigger makes me look a bit sleepy and I nearly took my eye out with a pair of tweezers getting the falsies on, I can't imagine wearing them every day!

This girl was on Snog, Marry, Avoid and is a full fledged Gyaru, this is what a stereotypical example of it is I think if you are interested have a look at her blog!

Do you like Gyaru make up, or is it too OTT in your opinion?

★ Vintage shopping ★

On Wednesday before I went back to school I went shopping with my friends, and visited two vintage shops. Although bloggers rave about Vintage clothing and charity shop finds I've never really got into it, but I can understand the enthusiasm! This is what I wore:

Sorry for the blurry pictures, my camera is finally giving up the ghost and is now prone to fits of bluriness for no reason and I am too nervous to dip into my gap year fund for a new one :(

Jeans - Gap - Jumper - Vintage - Scarf - Topshop - Bag - New Look - Boots - Zara

The shops I visited were like a treasure trove, the first thing I saw when I went in to the first was a whole rack of vintage chunky cardigans at prices far more reasonable than in Topshop! The first place we visited I bought this navy oversized cardi which you can see me wearing in a previous post, and I also acquired two more of my Dad's old jumpers to with the burnt orange one above. No idea what I can wear the mustard-y brown coloured one with though!

Then we walked to the next vintage shop (passing several adult shops on the way errr dirty) and I picked up 3 vintage scarves which I've been wearing in my hair since.

Then went to the highstreet shops which were so dissapointing in comparison! I had a Topshop gift card from Christmas to spend, yet all I found was this necklace and a make up brush - no bargains on the sale rack at all.

Deco'd the make up brush with a few rhinestones when I got home:

Also went to Boots to pick up the hair dye (see below), my favourite eye primer and some hairspray (notice how I specifically chose the can which was not endorsed by Cheryl bloody Cole).

Also, I've added a like option at the bottom which is quicker than commenting, just click it and it doesn't load a new page or anything. May be helpful as I'm not sure whether people are reading my blog and not commenting or not reading my blog at all; in which case how do you let people know your blog exists?!

1) Yes that it is a snake curling around my ear, I bought it off Ebay and I love it! The tail is the butterfly clip for the earring, the only problem is I have quite big ears (only the tips stick out, wtf much?) so the snakes body can become unhooked from the top of my ear if I jig about too much!

2) I have English an English exam on Monday which I am ~~crapping myself~~ terrified about, I'm going to spend the whole weekend desperately re-reading Jane Eyre and Wide Sargasso sea. As much as I love Jane Eyre if I have to read that novel one more time I think I will go insane!!

3) I bought a brown curly wig on Ebay hoping to just be able to wear it as a quick hair style change but I completely forgot I tried a friends wig before and I have too much hair to wear it! I'll take some photos for you guys but I followed a tutorial for long hair and wigs and even after separating my hair into multiple plaits and clipping them heidi-style across, my head looked MASSIVE with that much hair underneath the wig, not a good look!
4) I'm thinking about embedding my new youtube videos here every time I upload a new para para cover. I posted one at Christmas but I think I may have confused a couple of people who don't follow Japanese pop culture as much as I do haha! So would you be interested to see my para para covers or a bit 'err wut?' ?

DIY Ombre hair : Complete How to ♥

After buying the wrong dye once I finally got round to giving myself Ombre hair! If you don't know what Ombre is, it is basically a graduation of usually brown through to light brown or blonde at the bottom section of the hair. Celebs like Alexa Chung, Drew Barrymore have sported this look:

I have also seen versions with bright colours (for example Amy of Forever Curiouser has bright red) but I would call that dip dyeing, a la Gaga and Nicki Minaj.

As for the origin of Ombre I've no idea, I've been pronouncing it ohm-bre as in the French for 'shadow' but my friend read my blog and asked me when I was going to om-bray (which I'm sure is some sort of Mexican dance) my hair so idk!

It is very simple to do and does not require that much skill or money. All the bloggers who have done Ombre (for example LLYMLRS, Amy Antoinette, Zoella) have used L'oreal Excellence Creme Blonde Highlights kit so I went and got that for about £6. If you are a brunette like me you will need this or something similar that bleaches as nothing will happen to your hair if you just use Blonde hair dye.

The innards of the packet are quite scary as there are a lot more bits of pieces including a scary looking metal rod with a hook on the end and a fetching bonnet:

Anyway so you mix everything together and solution turns a lilac colour:

As my hair is quite long so I tied it into two bunches with small elastic hair ties so I would have an equal amount of Ombre on each side with the hair tie as a guideline.

Then you literally just slap the dye on! Although if you tie into bunches make sure you thoroughly dose each bunch in dye as this can cocoon hair from being dyed.

I left mine for 35 minutes (I'd say 30 mins minimum for brunettes), washed the dye off and had this lovely golden brown colour:

I took this pic a few days after the dyeing so it may have faded a bit, and its a little darker one one side but I still love it! I may go a bit lighter but seeing as my hair is currently dyed quite a dark brown I think being completely blonde at the ends might look a bit odd so I like the lighter brown colour ombre on me better.The kit also comes with a conditioning mask, as a negative is that bleaching does dry your hair out quite a bit so this softens the hair a little. Overall I am very pleased as I love experimenting with my hair colour and this was an easy way to transform my hair. Next step is to bleach it light enough so I can dye the ends lilac...we'll see!

EDIT: I realise ombre is meant to be more of a subtle transition but my hair was dyed dark brown to begin with so it was never going to be that unnoticetable, but it looks a lot more subtle now. Just in case anyone thought the colour change was a bit block-y. Here is a more recent picture of me with the ombre:

Also just as a heads up the bleaching did dry out my hair a lot and encourage my split ends, if you have the money I would get it done professionally at the hairdressers, especially if your hair is very dark as you will require more bleaching.

I've decided to change my weekly summary posts to be more of a well, summary! I also just want to point out (as I recently saw/read one blogger getting angry at another for this) that this isn't an original idea for a post series I have made up myself, and to give credit where due LLYMLRS has been doing a 'Sunday portrait' series forever and the lovely Kavita of iheartvintage also has a series called 'Share Sunday' and I'm taking inspiration from both these bloggers in my 'finally friday' summary posts. Sorry to ramble but I feel that if bloggers are going to replicate other bloggers ideas for posts they should give them credit!

1) I went back to school yesterday, woop (not), I always forget how short the Christmas holidays are! I really need to buckle down to work too as I mock exams and upcoming modules in Psychology and English, aahh shoot me now!

2) I'm thinking about ordering my first Lolita dress from Bodyline, specifically the one in my Christmas Wishlist post but I'd be quite scared to wear it to school as the majority of my school is in Uggs and Jack Wills clothing and I'd stick out like a sore thumb.

3) Oh and a little bit of good news, I sent off my UCAS for defferred entry just before I broke up for the Xmas hols and received an offer the day before Christmas eve, yay!

4) New Years resolutions:

a) Be more confident and assertive, stop worrying what everyone else thinks!

b) Work hard to get good grades in my A Levels

c) Get a job, babysitting doesn't count!

d) Plan my gap year in detail
